We're in the middle of a £3bn investment into our People, Platforms and Data - with a Software Engineering led approach, all as part of our strategy to become the best bank for customers.

And it's the role of our Chief Information Office (CIO) who provide the backbone and infrastructure upon which this bank of the future will sit.

We're supporting the infrastructure of a number of these strategic transformational initiatives through the provision of a new Workplace Engineering team.

The Workplace Engineering function is responsible for client and collaboration capability development and key to the delivery is a new modern Digital Workplace proposition for in excess of 90,000 colleagues. The function is looking for a Technical Tester to assist with its development. The Tester will be hands on and will be working as part of a number of engineering teams to develop, Test and implement the components that will make up the overall proposition.

 

Workplace Engineering are responsible for technical change to the colleague services and strategic direction across:

  • Device, Application & Data Management
  • Collaboration & Unified Comms (Voice, Video, SharePoint, Email)
  • Office Engineering (Telemetry, Add On management & governance)
  • Process Automation
  • Active Directory/Identity & Access Mgt
  • Application & Desktop Virtualisation
  • Cloud (SaaS, PaaS, IoT)

Could you help them make it possible?

You'll act as the primary CIO point of contact for infrastructure solutions testing for an aligned Lab, Programme or Project and will be accountable for the testing of solutions to time and quality standards against the requirements of the business.

What would you be doing?

You'll implement and deliver test automation solutions while working closely with business partners, development teams and delivery and industry partners. You'll need to have strong influential and leadership skills as well as a proven track record of working with automation tools and technologies coupled with a technical approach to problem solving; you'll also be familiar with Agile environments working with Continuous Integration pipelines with a developer mindset.

The successful candidate will be able to write, maintain and review test code, working alongside Developers and DevOps teams within a highly integrated environment; providing support and guidance to Engineering teams with technical advice and assurance on test automation projects. You'll ensure best practices are used as well as exploiting new industry leading technologies in order to effectively deliver testing projects.

You'll need to have:

  • Proven experience working in Test Automation
  • Java coding and Java framework experience
  • The ability to build comprehensive test automation frameworks from scratch
  • Experience with Agile delivery framework (e.g. SCRUM).
  • Experience with the Jira and Confluence toolsets
  • Experience in financial services or large corporate environments

 

A general knowledge of some of the following Enterprise technologies will be advantageous:

  • Collaboration & Unified Comms (Voice, Video, SharePoint, Email)
  • MS365 Product Suite (Previously Office 365 - Including but not limited to MS Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business)
  • Device, Application & Data Management (Intune, Windows 10 Management)
  • Office Engineering (Telemetry, Add On management & governance)
  • MS365 Security Tooling
  • Azure Active Directory
  • Application and Desktop Virtualisation
  • Virtual Desktop (Legacy, Citrix, DaaS)
  • Process Automation, scripting / coding (Including but not limited to PowerShell, PowerApps, GraphAPI, Python)
  • Experience with the Jira and Confluence toolsets
  • MAC/JAMF
