We are recruiting for a experienced Service Designer to work within a well-known National Charity.

Location and Flexibility

Preferably the role will be based at either Head Office in Barkingside, Essex or their London Offices in Euston. They also have a fantastic flexible working culture. Many of the current teams work partly remotely or flexibly between offices.

They also welcome applications from candidates looking to work flexibly from one of their other National offices; Crawley, Cardiff, Birmingham, Liverpool, Leeds, Edinburgh or Belfast as long as candidates are happy to travel into London and to some other offices regularly.

The Role

This is a great opportunity to pave the way in this Charities Digital Transformation. Your will design the end-to-end journey of a variety of services. This can be for internal or external users across a range of different functions. You will report into the Head of Service Design and be responsible for a number of different services at any one time. There will also be a focus around Governance and Prioritisation. Therefore any experience of designing streamlined services and procedures around these two issues would be beneficial.

This role will suit an experienced designer who is able to develop designs for services based on user needs and functionality. The current team is a mixture of permanent and contract individuals so we are looking for candidates that are adaptable and seasoned to change. It might also suit a more junior Service Designer looking to step-up.

Key Responsibilities

Lead teams of service designers, and work on complex or systemic projects yourself.

Analyse failure within services and identify root causes for that failure.

Identify opportunities for cost reduction and improvement within an existing service.

Understand the existing supporting system of a service and design targeted improvements to to that system to accommodate the new service – both digital and process based.
