Where does this role fit in?

We are looking to recruit a Regional HRBP to join our HR Utilities team working on our Water North and Energy Metering account within the Utilities division. You will be working closely with our clients on this account which include: United Utilities, Yorkshire Water, Scottish Water.

Reporting into the Head of HR, you will work closely with the Business Director and Account Director's to develop and execute against a long-term people plan.

This is a Regional role and will cover a range of different contracts and locations including: Bamber Bridge, Matchworks (Liverpool), Ashburton, Bright House, Warrington, Stockport and Glasgow. You will be required to travel 2 days per week and to travel to other Amey locations as required. The ideal person will live in the North West with easy travel distance from either Warrington or Bamber Bridge.


What does this role involve?

As a business partner you will provide a combination of operational and strategic advice to your internal client group. You will be supported by our internal Shared Service Centre, COE's and Croner our new HR advice partner.

You will be responsible for developing and executing against a long-term people plan which, is closely aligned to the business unit plan and the wider Utilities strategy, including:

  • Skills for the future, ensure that we have the right organisation design, skills and capability to deliver our business objectives now and in the future
  • Develop high performing individuals and teams with a clear L&D plan
  • Embed a performance management culture through key performance metrics and operational balanced scorecards.
  • Create an inclusive environment that allows our people to be at their best, supported by a wellbeing plan

In addition to the above you will:

  • Coach and develop our managers to become the best leaders
  • Play an integral part of the senior management team using your insight and data to help improve operational delivery and financial performance
  • Oversee HR service delivery within your business area and collaborate with the wider HR community to improve service and efficiency
  • Monitor and manage employee relations and supports the conclusion of complex and high-risk cases
  • Oversee the application of Amey policies and practices in the account and acts as an advocate for these amongst line managers.

What is your experience?

  • You will be an experienced HR Trusted Advisor with blended experience in HR services, specialisms and business partnering
  • You will have experience in development and implementation of people plans and strategies which will influence business performance in a range of situations/sectors/service types
  • Experience within a regional role with multiple stakeholders
  • You will have proven experience in developing high performing team
  • Leading & delivering change and transformation projects with successful outcomes
  • Have lead HR programmes including contract mobilisation, de-mobilisation and Transfers under TUPE
