Music Development Manager

Following the creation of the music delivery team, our client has an exciting new role for a Music Development Manager to join them in a home based role, covering their Southern England and Channel Islands region.

Position: Music Development Manager – South England and Channel Islands

Location: Working from a home base or an office within the geographic area of responsibility

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, full-time.

Salary: £31,000 – £36,000 depending upon experience

Contract: Permanent

Benefits: Excellent benefits package including 35 days per year (inclusive of bank holidays), Employer Pension contribution of 5%, Death in Service benefits, access to an Employee Assistance Programme and the opportunity for flexible working.

The charity, which celebrated its 70th birthday in 2018, provides live music sessions for people who are receiving care or treatment in healthcare settings. In 2018/19 they delivered in excess of 4,500 live music sessions across the UK.

This is a tremendously exciting time to be involved with the organisation; in 2019 they successfully implemented a number of innovative and award winning programmes and partnerships, which they will look to build on in 2020 and beyond.

The Role

In this exciting new role, the Music Development Manager will be responsible for implementing the organisation’s strategic plan within the geographic area of responsibility, ensuring consistency with the UK-wide strategy. Developing and ensuring the delivery of a high-quality programme of live music for adults and children in health and care settings and communities, the Music Development Manager will work to agreed standards of performance, achieving all operational targets.

About You

As Music Development Manager you will have a passion for music with a broad knowledge of the field and an appreciation of the therapeutic benefits that the performance of live music can bring to people in care.

You will bring with you:

 

  • A degree level qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
  • A proven track record of service delivery within the health or care sectors.
  • Experience in people management and an ability to inspire and lead others.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing relationships and account management across a varied workload.
  • Experience of working within a safeguarding environment.
  • The ability to develop, share and deliver work plans.
  • A high-level understanding of charity finance.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and database systems.

About the Organisation

The charity seeks to give joy through live music through the provision of live music sessions for people receiving care or treatment in healthcare settings across the UK, including those who are vulnerable, the elderly, those with dementia and in critical care.

Their live music concerts are presented by individual or small groups of skilled musicians who have been carefully selected through a process of audition. Sessions are tailored to the both the setting and the audience to ensure that they can reach and connect people, encourage communication and meaningful interactions and evoke emotions and memories to make people feel good one tune at a time.
