Hours: 20 hours (ideally working Monday to Friday, although we are flexible) 

Due to business growth, we are expanding the team and recruiting an experienced Payroll Co-ordinator to join our busy HR function based at Middlemarch Business Park, Coventry. This is a part time role, ideally four hours per day, although we are happy to apply flexibility on exact working patterns for the right candidate.

The Payroll Coordinator Role 
Working as part of a small team, the role will involve working closely with the existing Payroll Co-ordinator, to support the processing of payroll for approximately 900 employees, on a monthly pay cycle. Whilst payroll is administered through an external provider (ADP), the majority of the processing is controlled in house. In addition, the auto-enrolment assessment and pension administration is also conducted by the payroll function.
 
Reporting to the HR Services Manager, your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Collation of monthly payroll data within required timeframes and authorisation guidelines, ensuring data is accurately submitted to the payroll provider 
  • Ensuring legal compliance 
  • Working closely with the external provider 
  • Administration of the HRIS/payroll system 
  • Supporting the payroll transfer for all acquired businesses 
  • Supporting the management of statutory leave, and starters and leavers processes.
  • Involvement in payroll auditing for accuracy 
  • Completion of monthly reports 
  • Providing management information as and when required 
  • Supporting all payroll and tax queries 
  • Cost analysis and reconciliation activities with Finance 
  • Supporting the annual budget processes
  • Supporting tax year end processes 
  • Understanding and conducting the auto-enrolment pension assessment activities 
  • Supporting Finance with P11D and PSA activities 
  • Support ad-hoc payroll projects 
  • Supporting both internal and external audits

     

 
Do you have the right Profile? 
The successful candidate will have at least three years previous payroll experience, ideally within a large mule-site organisation. You will have a sound understanding of UK tax legislation, and the ability to carry out manual calculations. Ideally, you will also have experience in both in-house and outsourced payroll management systems.
 
You will have excellent organisation skills. With a strong attention to detail and be able to prioritise workloads effectively. Strong communication skills and confidentiality are a must. You will be familiar with GDPR requirements and will be customer-focused and results-oriented. With regards to IT skills, you must be competent in word, outlook and excel, with the ability to use excel for reporting and analysis purposes.
