Job description

We are looking to hire an enthusiastic individual with excellent knowledge of Project and Programme management processes who has the ability to take managed risk, change course often at short notice and work to demanding timelines and workloads. This will involve working long hours on occasion.

They will support the Aviation Programme Manager to establish the governance, strategy, planning and execution for the future Search and Rescue Helicopter procurement and support wider teams in the delivery of high value projects and procurements. The successful candidate will embrace all aspects of the vision for the future of the Commercial Directorate within the MCA.
 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Supporting the Aviation Programme manager with all aspects of programme delivery and execution for the future Search and Rescue Helicopter procurement as well as other high value programmes
• The production of and monitoring of all associated programme documentation
• Day to day monitoring of programmes to determine progress against key milestones and are on track to deliver.
• Working with and alongside technical, financial, economic, business case, commercial and legal colleagues to monitor and capture progress against agreed timelines and plans.
• Taking inputs from leads and constructing programme and project reports for senior management boards Ability to challenge leads and managers where there is potential ambiguity.
• Participate fully in HM Government's audit and assurance processes
• Providing leadership and management of 2 staff working on delivery of the various programmes and projects.
Assist and potentially lead on the evaluation of project and transition plans for the various procurements and contribute to the appropriate business cases in terms of governance. About You:

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) is an executive agency of the United Kingdom working to prevent the loss of lives at sea and is responsible for implementing British and international maritime law and safety policy. It is also responsible for land based search and rescue helicopter operations from 2015.
