Senior Carer

Our client is a family run social care provider dating back to 1950, they are looking for and compassionate Senior Carer to join their friendly team.

Location: Frenchay, Bristol

Salary: £9.25 - £10.05 + enhancements for sleep-ins

Hours: Normally a 37-hour week on a shift rota basis is operated but the Senior Care Assistant must be flexible and adjust hours according to the requirements of the post. Hours include evening and weekend working usually alternate weekends off.

Our client fully supports the career progression of their staff and on-going training is provided. Self-development, in house and sponsored training is available leading to QCF qualifications.

About the role:

Rated as ‘Outstanding’ by CQC, our client’s care home is situated in Frenchay, Bristol. They offer personalised group living for adults with learning difficulties and physical disabilities.

As a Senior Carer you will support residents to live with respect and dignity, providing for their physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs. This may include day to day needs such as personal care, arranging social activities, assisting with the provision of medication as needed, and provide any other support as required.

You will take delegated responsibility in the absence of the Manager in managing this residential care home, supervising and monitoring of a number of care staff. You will need to be able to co-ordinate colleagues and take responsibility for Unit tasks as delegated by the Manager.

About you:

What we need from a Senior Carer is someone with empathy, patience and compassion who can take on the role with enthusiasm. You will bring with you the following skills and experience:

  • You need the ability to communicate with compassion and care
  • Previous supervisory experience working in a caring role
  • NVQ3 or commitment to achieve QCF3
  • A driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes
