Due to continual bidding success Willmott Dixon are looking to grow our preconstruction team and recruit an experienced Design Coordinator to work from our Bristol office and to support on projects across South West.
Our current project values range from £5m to £45m, and we operate in the following sectors:

About the role

Our Design Coordinators work in both preconstruction and operations to resolve design throughout the preconstruction phase and onto site. Supporting a Design Manager on a larger scheme or leading a smaller value scheme as a Design Coordinator at Willmott Dixon, you will promote integration of disciplines and select, manage and appoint consultants to ensure that they perform in line with their deed and agreed scope of services. You will therefore be able to overview, monitor and report on design programmes, and also provide technical support to the bid process. In addition, you will be developing designs that utilise innovative techniques on multiple/complex projects.



The key responsibilities are:

* Lead the design process to produce accurate information in line with the agreed specification and cost plan / estimate
* It is also equally important to manage the appointment of consultants and ensure that they perform in line with their deed and agreed scope of services
* Develop a design programme with the consultants to meet the agreed whole life programme dates
* Provide cost effective technical solutions
* Chair design team meetings and issue actions promptly
* Produce designs that meet all necessary statutory and regulatory approvals and record on appropriate tracking logs



What we are looking for

Essential Criteria
* Experience of various forms of construction technology
* Understanding of CAD and Microsoft Office
* Experience of reading and interpreting drawings and technical specifications
* Minimum relevant level 4 qualification (ONC / NVQ4 etc)
* Appropriate CSCS card
* Valid driving licence

Desirable Criteria
* Navigation experience of design package software
* Working towards MCIOB/RICS
* Construction related degree
* Experience with BIM
