Job Details

We are recruiting a Sustainability Manager to join our Development Business in London. Crucial to the delivery of Lendlease Europe's sustainability vision, the Sustainability Manager is responsible for deploying the environmental components of the Group and Regional Sustainability Strategies across our significant pipeline of urban regeneration projects.

Accountabilities:

  • Contribution to the selection, briefing and scope of external consultants in order to achieve the sustainability commitments of the developments
  • Contributing to Sustainability Project Control Groups on a regular basis to track key commitments across the projects and ensure that management are aware of key risks and opportunities as the projects progress
  • Input into the core documents of the development delivery, including development briefs, design briefs, base build design requirements, building contracts, leasing documents, employer's requirements, planning submissions
  • Guiding teams through the sustainability gateways within the Compass internal governance process
  • Lead on the management and submissions of Lendlease entries into appropriate sustainability benchmarks and certification schemes
  • Input into the overall communications program for the projects to ensure that the sustainability vision is articulated and that best practice examples and key project successes are communicated to enhance Lendlease's brand and perception within the local community, key stakeholders and broader industry
  • Engage with industry working groups and partners (e.g. UKGBC) to ensure Lendlease involvement in key industry initiatives relevant to these projects and the broader business.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience required:

  • Robust technical knowledge of environmental sustainability issues and property / construction
  • Track record of devising and implementing sustainability strategies for large, complicated projects at a strategic level
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Ability to influence and build rapport with clients and stakeholders
  • Performance and drive: able to keep deadlines, communicates project updates and input requirements.
  • Persistent, determined
  • Is organisationally aware and collaborates to build key coalitions, works constructively with colleagues, able to assemble very diverse teams around a common goal
  • Develop and maintain a strong network of consultants / experts
  • Ability to lead groups of senior internal and external stakeholders to a tangible outcome
  • The ability to deal with conflict
  • Proven experience in managing budgets and P&L
  • Proven experience in developing and executing business strategies
