Job Details

We are recruiting for a Senior Communications and Stakeholder Manager to join the communications team here at Lendlease. It will be working closely with the Project Directors and reporting into the company's communications and marketing team. The successful candidate will manage all communications and stakeholder engagement for Lendlease's projects in the Birmingham area.

Accountabilities:

  • Generate and implement project communications and stakeholder engagement strategies to support the delivery of the project's strategic objectives
  • Provide strategic insights and counsel to senior internal stakeholders concerning issues of key significance to Lendlease emanating from policy and other matters of local and industry significance
  • Work with the wider communications team to support the Group and Regional strategy
  • Support the planning and delivery of project communications across all facets of the project: planning, community consultation, selling/marketing, construction/delivery and stakeholder management.
  • Confidently handle potential issues where Lendlease / the project may be portrayed unfavourably in the media or with stakeholders
  • Anticipate and identify issues that may have an impact and provide insight, analysis and counsel to senior managers and the wider communications team
  • Develop key external communications including press releases, briefing papers, messaging and speeches for senior managers
  • Ensure effective monitoring of changes to local political stakeholders and regulatory policy issues and brief senior leaders accordingly
  • Generate content ideas for proactive PR and social media campaigns
  • Develop and utilise key media relationships
  • Maintain media planner / calendar and liaise with the cental communications team to plan activity
  • Develop and manage on-going project Q&As and key messages
  • Developing local case studies to help promote project progress
  • Work with the regional marketing team to support local marketing activity
  • Represent Lendlease at political or policy meetings and events where appropriate
  • Ensure the project team are aware of local issues and concerns as the projects progress
  • Ensure positive awareness of the project and corporate brand, internally & externally
  • Liaise with internal communications team to ensure the project is well represented across Lendlease's internal channels and aligns with Lendlease key messages
  • Write and distribute internal communications for the project

Knowlege, Skills and Experience required:

  • Experience in communications, PR and stakeholder management with a proven ability to cultivate contacts and manage relationships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with great attention to detail
  • The experience and credibility to work effectively with senior managers
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent knowledge of Birmingham
  • Excellent awareness of UK and local political environment
  • Interest in the UK's built environment would be beneficial

  • Hands-on self-starter with the combination of analytical and commercial skills to determine what needs doing - and then doing it.
