Based within award-winning offices in Taunton, Somerset, the UK Hydrographic Office (UKHO) has an excellent opportunity for an experienced team leader with a good understanding of Admiralty Publications to play a key role leading our Nautical Publications Production Tteam.

The UKHO is a leading centre for hydrography, providing marine geospatial data to inform maritime decisions. We work with a wide range of data suppliers and partners to support maritime navigation, safety, security and marine development around the UK and worldwide.

The Nautical Publications Production Team sits within the wider Digital Products, Services and Publications Group, and is responsible for the production of all Admiralty Publications, in both paper and digital format.  The range of publications provide worldwide coverage for the mariner and include Sailing Directions, Admiralty Lists of Lights, Admiralty Lists of Radio Signals and a range of reference publications including The Mariners’ Handbook. 

In this role you will develop and drive the Nautical Publications Production Team to deliver quality output to time, cost and specification. You will be responsible for the annual production and publication of paper book new editions and digital product updates. You will also be responsible for the development of new publications products in response to emerging customer requirements.

You will need to have a track record of leading teams effectively through change, with the ability to understand how the team’s activity impacts on the wider organisation. As you will be leading a team of technical specialists working on a wide variety of tasks/outputs, you will need to possess the agility to ensure the delivery of multiple workstreams to time, cost and quality.
