What's the role?

We're looking for a Statutory/Tax Accountant to work within our shared service centre here in Manchester. You'll be a critical member of the team supporting on topics including Statutory Reporting and Tax.

What does the role involve?

In this role you will take full responsibility of the preparation of the statutory accounts for several markets in co-ordination with the General Ledger Accountants, external auditors and the local finance teams.
You'll play a key role in setting & agreeing the yearly timetable and then communicating this with stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of the signed financial statements
You will also be responsible for reviewing the current disclosure schedules whilst improving and documenting the process
Other responsibilities will include reviewing Corporation Tax processes and implementing robust internal controls and processes to ensure Statutory deadlines are met
You'll communicate and manage the Corporation Tax filing process alongside the External Tax Accountants and will project manage tax reporting deadlines for the parent company including Tax Forecasts, Quarterly Tax Updates and Deferred Tax
You will work closely with the other members of the GL team to ensure correct tax accruals and payments are recorded in the accounts
You will also develop and maintain robust controls and process documentation for both Tax and Statutory Accounts

What you need is:

  • Accounting Qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA)
  • Experience in Tax Compliance
  • Broad knowledge of IFRS
  • Tax / Auditing experience
  • Experience of working in a multi-national organisation or shared service centre environment
