Job description

Our team is growing in response to the demands of the 2nd Generation Search and Rescue Contract (UKSAR2G) procurement and we are recruiting an Aviation Contract Manager to join us here in the MCA to provide critical support throughout this busy time and beyond. You would be responsible for the day to day management of the MCA Aviation contracts, monitoring supplier performance and taking action to resolve service delivery issues where necessary. Managing a small commercial team, you will drive value for money in all that we do. You will also be responsible for the financial management of the Aviation Branch budget and will make key contributions to specific procurement projects.
 

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to;
• Day to day management of all Aviation contracts
• Support the Commercial Manager and Aviation Senior Finance Manager in controlling the £220m per annum budget.
• Leading the negotiation with service providers to ensure delivery issues are managed effectively with minimum disruption to services.
• Ensure the service providers are meeting or exceeding the KPIs.
• Liaise with the Procurement team to identify the best method for new contracts and any existing contract extensions.
• Providing support to specific procurement projects.
• Coaching and mentoring of direct reports.

You will have a sound understanding of commercial and/or procurement processes, with the confidence to lead and influence others. You are a natural problem solver and lookout for ways to make improvements. You will have excellent stakeholder relationship management – using this skill to engage others and promote best practice. You are not afraid of a challenge and enjoy an environment that encourages you to think outside the box.
