We are looking for an Internal Communications Specialist to join the regional communications team for one of the UK's largest property and infrastructure companies.

You will be responsible for working with the global vision and strategy and executing it in the region, whilst also shaping the local strategy for employee communications content and internal creative needs.

Internal communications play a key part in how we stay connected to our people and give them the knowledge and stories they need to do amazing work. The internal communications function will work in collaboration with the broader Corporate Affairs and HR teams to ensure seamless communications and alignment to the broader Lendlease business strategy and brand.

You will work alongside senior leaders and business units, you will have experience of building and managing strong relationships and be adept at sharing news across the organisation. You will also have experience of putting across an organisations view on topics, and issues with its internal audience, and be a leader in making communications more intuitive and relevant, responding to how our audience consumes and experiences content.

Core responsibilities

  • Lead the development and oversee the implementation of a forward-looking and highly effective internal communications strategy to influence and improve internal engagement for Lendlease.
  • Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders at all levels of the organisation (especially with the HR team) to ensure you become a trusted internal communications advisor.
  • Develop key internal communications including briefing papers, messaging and speaking notes for the CEO and Regional Leadership Team when required.
  • Develop content for audiences on all internal channels, such as the new internal social app, face-to-face events and intranet. Support the organisation's brand identity, tone of voice and style guide, generate pride and above all, deliver simple, engaging and clear messages.
  • Use a data-driven approach to communications measurement with an ability to evaluate and report on progress, with a focus on impact, results, and recommendations for future improvements.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leaders, providing advice and consultancy to ensure a consistent approach to internal communications.

Skills and Experience

  • Influencing skills and ability to manage senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable ability to build a network at all levels.
  • Demonstrated copy writing, editing and sub-editing skills, with a plain English, jargon-free tone of voice.
  • Demonstrable track record of delivering and measuring successful communications and campaigns, that deliver positive results.
  • Can do attitude, with a passion for internal communications and engagement
  • Proven ability to design and execute internal communications strategy within a matrix environment.
  • Ability to collaborate with international colleagues, leveraging the work of the global team and delivering it regionally.
  • Significant internal communications experience at a senior level, preferably with some experience in the corporate sector.
  • Demonstrable experience of planning and executing internal engagement strategies and influencing change.
  • Demonstrable experience of working collaboratively across business functions at all levels.
  • Educated to degree level.

Measurement and Reporting

  • Establish appropriate feedback mechanisms to ensure continuous improvement of internal communications activities.
  • Report on the outcomes from the above feedback and make changes accordingly.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-changing environment.

  • Self-confident but also humble enough to critically appraise own work.
