iPSL are looking for a Developer to work within the development team.

We are the leading digital payment processing service provider within the UK and have recently gone through the biggest business transformation programme the company has ever seen! 

The role will be based in Northampton, and comes with a competitive salary, between £28,500 to £43,000p.a. (depending on experience) + £4,100 Car Allowance

The hours of work will be 35 per week Monday to Friday.

The successful candidate will ideally be fully skilled in .NET & SQL and well versed in the development and testing lifecycles with a proven track record of delivery.

  

Key Responsibilities include:         

  • Work within a development team to deliver assigned work items.
  • Provide accurate estimations on work packages.
  • Work within the development team and provide input into the detail and coverage of Unit testing and perform Unit Testing.
  • Deliver quality code with the aim of reducing the number of defects delivered through the test cycles.
  • Responsible for the delivery work packages through their team.
  • Responsible for ensuring test execution is of sufficient quality to reduce the number of defects that are delivered to the subsequent test phases.
  • Escalates quality concerns to the line manager.
  • Highlights risks and issues associated with the development of work packages while liaising with the relevant stakeholders from within the development lifecycle.
  • Provide status reporting to the appropriate level of detail to the line manager.
  • Ensure that deliverables adhere to governance processes.
  • Participate in post implementation reviews as necessary.
  • Ensure that development standards, policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Work closely with other teams when necessary to create software that is cohesive through the respective delivery gates including testing and implementation.
  • Actively report areas for improvement to line manager.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent working knowledge of development and testing lifecycles including; Unit Testing, System Testing & System Integration testing.
  • In-depth working knowledge of .NET, Microsoft Development Platforms & SQL.
  • Experience writing and optimising SQL queries.
  • Working knowledge of Azure DevOps.
  • Previous development experience in .Net & SQL.
  • Good planning skills.
  • Familiar with Agile & Waterfall methodologies.
  • Good root cause analysis & problem solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise workload.
  • Experience using the following technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JAVA and development of server-side technologies is desirable.
  • Experience working on software development projects and experience in the finance sector, with payments and cheque clearing is advantageous.

Training & Qualifications Required:

  • No formal qualifications are required, however a wider understanding of industry standard processes (e.g. ITIL) is essential
