Volunteer Engagement Officer

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast growing organisation. The Volunteer Engagement Officer will have the opportunity to lead on exciting regional attraction work to deliver a pipeline of high quality volunteers, with a specific focus in Coventry.

Position: Volunteer Engagement Officer - West Midlands

Location: Office based in Birmingham with regular travel to Coventry

Hours: 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday – with flexible working opportunities available

Salary: £19,000 - £23,100 per annum, dependant on experience (For the right candidate a Senior Recruitment Officer level would be considered with a salary of £23,900 - £27,900)

Contract: Permanent

The Role

The Volunteer Engagement Officer role will contribute to delivering an efficient, effective, end to end recruitment service, supporting with selection, retention and on-boarding processes; to ensure outstanding volunteers are recruited to deliver excellent outcomes for schools and pupils.

Primary responsibilities:

 

  • Attraction and selection of high quality volunteers.
  • Delivering high quality events and presentations to the target market.
  • Developing positive recruitment partnerships to ensure that the recruitment targets are reached.
  • Ensure delivery of a successful retention strategy for your region.
  • Complete on-boarding checks for volunteers, including reference and DBS checks.
  • Supporting the recruitment team across the year by inputting into the local and national strategy.

 

About You

As the Volunteer Engagement Officer, you will have knowledge of engaging volunteers or have hands on recruitment experience. You will also:

 

  • Be an excellent and experienced relationship builder with an enthusiastic, proactive approach.
  • Be passionate about recruiting high quality volunteers.
  • Have experience of engaging and on boarding volunteers or experience of working within a recruitment, university, college or careers setting.
  • Have a passionate for the organisations culture, vision and values.

 

You may also have experience of field sales/recruitment, as well as experience managing online and telephone applications.

You will be asked to submit a CV and a cover letter as part of your application detailing your current and previous experience. We are keen to hear about specific volunteering engagement or recruitment experience, alongside any other charity/third sector organisations you may have worked or volunteered for.
