The Countryside Alliance Foundation (TCAF)

The Countryside Alliance Foundation is a registered charity which aims to help adults and children alike make the most of the incredible remedial and educational benefits of being involved in the natural environment. By introducing people to the delights of rural Britain we hope to inspire them to become passionate about the countryside whilst helping to protect the natural environment.

TCAF’s current projects are Fishing for Schools and Falconry for Schools, helping school children (particularly disadvantaged and SEN children) re-engage with learning and the environment, and Casting for Recovery, providing outdoor therapy for woman who have, or have had, breast cancer.

Fishing for Schools, is an angling educational programme delivered by TCAF that has over 12 years’ experience of working with disadvantaged young people across England and Wales.  Fishing for Schools helps young people build confidence, develop life skills and re-engage with learning.  Over 3,000 children and young people from more than 110 schools across 30 counties in England and Wales have benefitted from learning outdoors and connecting with nature through Fishing for Schools.
