Job Description

Why is our Software Testing team the next step for you?
Our team is responsible for functional and non-functional tests on one of our core eCommerce payment platforms, WPG (Worldwide Payment Gateway).

In WPG, we focus intensively on robustness, security and capacity, but with large-scale test automation and a well-tuned release machine. Change is deployed with no downtime; we upgrade the system whilst it is still running at top speed. That top speed is substantial; at peak time the platform can happily process 800 transactions every second, and on its busiest days over 10 million payments are successfully completed.

How will you contribute on a day-to-day basis?
In this role, you’ll work as a key part of an agile scrum team, to deliver products and change requests of the highest quality. You’ll ensure efficient, effective and economic testing of a number of software projects using appropriate strategies and techniques. You’ll conduct functional and non-functional tests of our application, create automated tests to enhance the existing test suite using Selenium and convert existing manual test scripts/cases to executable automated tests. You’ll support and maintain our test automation framework with respect to implementation of new features, existing features or bug fixes. You’ll participate in agile ceremonies like daily scrums, sprint reviews and retrospectives, and proactively identify improvements and enhancements to the platform.

What will make you the right fit for the team?

You’ll have software testing experience and the ability to develop automation scripts using Java and Selenium. You’ll have experience with SQL, Unix and Jbehave or Cucumber. You’ll have a good understanding of Agile testing methods like BDD and Exploratory testing, as well as experience with software testing procedures and test planning, test estimation, prioritisation and risk-based testing.
