A great opportunity available to join our New Product Development Team in our Swindon Head Office.
This is an exciting opportunity to join WHSmith at our Head Office based in Swindon, Wiltshire working within our New Product Development Team  In this role you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of new products and packaging solutions for our High Street Stores.  

Managing the overall process from initial concept through to art-working, adhering to project timescales to meet product needs. This is high-activity working environment and would suit individuals who can demonstrate superb organisation and project management skills and an ability to work to tight deadlines.

What you’ll do:
You will work closely with the Design Manager, Head of NPD and Group Marketing Director to deliver innovative and differentiated creative solutions in keeping with Brand Standards and Strategy. The process will start by you collating briefs from the trading  teams and review timing’s, budget and challenge when required prior to discussions with the Head of NPD. 

You’ll then liaise with the Design Manager & Head of NPD to  gain creative direction for the project, providing clear briefs at all times so that when you brief the designers, art workers and external design agencies all parties are coherent on the delivered outcome. You will ensure the creative approval process is followed and key sign off meetings managed at all times and set up and manage workload to deliver all projects within budget and on time.

Who we’re looking for:
You will come from a design/marketing team in an in-house role or from an agency and possess excellent project management skills with the knowledge of design, photography, artwork and print processes. You’ll be an organised individual who is an engaging and credible communicator able to build relationships at all levels.

You will need to be driven, and have the initiative to get things done efficiently, accurately and to tight deadlines, remaining calm under pressure in this fast paced environment is a must. You’ll have good working knowledge of PC Microsoft including Excel, Word and PowerPoint and understanding of Mac operation functions to enable basic use of Macs when required, and be degree qualified or possess similar professional qualifications (CIM or IDM).
