This is a great opportunity to join the Development, Construction and Asset Management team of our Green Investment Group.  You will be a highly motivated Commercial Asset Manager and help support the transition to a low carbon, sustainable global economy. You will have with responsibility for our solar and renewable investments and report to the Chief Financial Officer of the Development, Construction and Asset Management team. You will work closely with our partners on the development, construction and asset management of renewable energy projects whilst supporting the CFO in ensuring standards of financial control and financial management are met and incorporated into all projects.

The role will focus on the commercial and financial oversight of our solar assets both C&I and utility scale. This will involve administering and complying with financing and power purchase agreements, ensuring invoicing is performed on a timely basis, project budget monitoring and financial reporting, cashflow management and projection and ensuring all appropriate insurances are in place. This will necessitate clear communication between all parties involved in the project and extensive liaison with our investment partners, contractors and outsource service providers to deliver the oversight required. Technical understanding of renewable energy assets and projects would be an advantage.

You will be based in either London or Edinburgh, with some travel activities to other destinations in Europe.

 

In this role, you will have financial oversight of development projects and closely monitor project spend and budgets, including variance reporting and investigation. In addition to working with service providers, consultants and asset management partners, you will also forge close relationships with internal technical and origination teams, advising on project finance lending and compliance. Your understanding of financial models will be a distinct advantage in this position.

To perform at the required level in this role, you will ideally be a fully or part qualified accountant with a working knowledge of the technical aspects of solar assets in the development and construction phase and have a demonstrable track record of commercial management and project finance. With at least five years’ experience, you will have strong organisational and communication skills and an ability to work closely with technical project teams (including origination teams) and risk management.

 

This role is in Macquarie Capital, specifically within the Green Investment Group. Macquarie Capital provides advisory and capital raising services to corporate and government clients involved in public mergers and acquisitions, private treaty acquisitions and divestments, debt and equity fundraising and corporate restructuring. The Green Investment Group was acquired by Macquarie Group in 2017, creating one of Europe’s largest teams of dedicated green infrastructure investors. It is a specialist in green infrastructure principal investment, project delivery and portfolio management, and related services. Its track record, expertise and capability make it a global leader in green investment across a broad range of technologies including onshore and offshore wind, solar, waste-to-energy, and energy efficiency/storage.
