About the job

Are you an experienced analyst with an ability to build and drive a new programme of work and a passion for assessing and challenging existing evidence?

Would you like to influence wellbeing and quality of life by developing the evidence base around health and aviation noise?

If so, this unique and exciting opportunity as our Senior Analyst (Public Health) is for you, and we’d love to hear from you.

Job description

The Independent Commission on Civil Aviation Noise (ICCAN) has recently been established as an Advisory Non-Departmental Public Body to become a credible and authoritative voice on aviation noise issues.

The objective of ICCAN is to bring together industry, communities and the Government to ensure best practice is followed and information is shared and communicated in an accessible way. We will aim to identify any improvements needed to industry methods of assessing and mitigating noise impacts and will give communities a greater stake on aviation noise issues.

We’re now seeking a Senior Analyst to drive forward ICCAN’s programme of research, analysis and reporting on the health impacts of aviation noise. You will be expected to develop and deliver a range of projects around health, wellbeing and quality of life, liaising with a wide range of academic, industry and community stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

- Leading a program of work to establish a credible evidence base on the relationship between aviation noise and public health, critically assessing the existing evidence and developing strategies to fill gaps in the literature.

- Helping to coordinate a team that delivers and assures robust analysis to inform policy development, influence industry behaviour and underpin decisions, while reassuring communities of the independence and credibility of this evidence.

- Working closely with communications and policy colleagues to both communicate complex issues clearly and develop evidence-based best practice to improve the effectiveness of local and national noise policy.
