Event Volunteer

We are looking for Event Volunteers to help facilitate the Burghley Horse Trials, by operating a shop-and-drop cloakroom

Location: Stamford, PE9

Dates: 2nd – 6th September 2020 – Please note, this event is currently scheduled to go ahead as planned. Due to COVID-19 dates for events are subject to change. We will endeavour to inform you of any changes to any events/activities we are involved in as soon as possible

Time: You will be needed for a half or full day, between 9am and 6pm on Wednesday 2nd, Thursday 3rd, Friday 4th, Saturday 5th or Sunday 6th September 2020. You will need to arrive by 8:15-8:30 for a briefing and setup.

The opportunity:

Burghley Horse Trials is a major international sporting and social event. Close to 175,000 visitors will enjoy this equestrian eventing occasion and we are looking for event volunteers to help by operating a shop-and-drop cloakroom, providing a great experience for event attendees. You’ll provide visitors with the opportunity to leave shopping or parcels bought from onsite exhibitors in your care, whilst enjoying their day at the Horse Trials. With your support – and shoppers’ generous donations – it is hoped that over £6,000 will be raised from this five-day event.

As an Event volunteer you will be:

  • Running a shop-and-drop cloakroom-style facility to store shopping for event attendees.
  • Providing the opportunity for attendees to give a donation should they wish to do so.
  • If requested, providing charity public engagement materials to visitors.
  • Hosting a bucket collection at the end of the day (Saturday only)
  • Helping with other smaller task as necessary to make this event a success.

You do not need to have previous volunteering experience, ideally you will bring with you some of the following:
