Support Coordinator

This is an exciting opportunity to work with stroke survivors and their families to support them following stroke. We’re looking for an innovative, passionate and professional individual with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills to join the Stroke Recovery Service based in Wakefield.

Position: Stroke Support Coordinator

Location: Office based - Allerton Bywater, covering Wakefield

Hours: 21 hours per week

Salary: Circa £13,800 per annum

Contract: Permanent. Services are contracted; there is currently funding for this contract until 31 March 2022

The Role

The service aims to identify and address the needs of stroke survivors and carers across the stroke pathway, by providing a range of innovative support solutions, supporting them to meet their desired outcomes.

A key part of the role will be to recruit, train and manage a team of volunteers, to support service users and the delivery of the service. As well as providing personalised information, advise and support.

About You

Applicants are likely to have a background/experience in:

 

  • A caring profession ideally with experience of supporting people with disabilities.
  • Excellent IT skills and a strong understanding of how to use data to improve quality.
  • Working without direct supervision and demonstrating initiative.
  • Forming and maintaining professional relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Communicating effectively face to face, by email, telephone including speaking in public or group settings.

 

A flexible approach to your role is essential, as is willingness to travel. The use of a car with business use cover is essential to be able to fulfil the requirements of the role.
