Counselling Coordinator

We are seeking a Counselling Coordinator to support the effective delivery of trauma informed counselling services to survivors of rape and sexual abuse.

Due to the nature of the role applications are open to women only (exempt under the Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9, Part 1).

Our client is a charity that exists to relieve the trauma and distress and help rebuild the lives of survivors who live in Somerset, Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset and BANES, who have experienced any form of sexual violence, at any point in their lives. This is an opportunity for an experience Counselling Coordinator to really make a difference!

Salary: £27,000
Hours: Part Time – 30 hours per week
Duration: Permanent
Based: Bristol or Taunton Hub
Benefits: 5% pension, 27 days annual leave + bank hols (pro rata)

About the role:

As Counselling Coordinator you will work alongside the Counselling Manger, the Head of Service Delivery and Service Delivery Administration team in the effective delivery of trauma informed counselling services to survivors (adults and young people aged 13+) of rape and sexual abuse across Avon and Somerset. Ensuring a well-coordinated service operates across our client’s hubs and multiple spokes and that therapeutic interventions make a difference and survivors have a positive experience of the service.

About You

You will be passionate about coordinating a counselling service for survivors of rape and sexual abuse.

A skilled counselling practitioner, you will also have the management and administrative experience to support a staff and volunteer team of highly trained counsellors and coordinate their work across a wide geographical region delivering a range of contracts

You will need to be compassionate with an understanding of the impact of vicarious trauma, with the ability to support team members around this.
