Volunteer Charity Shop Assistant

Our client has has 11 charity shops across the Worthing area ranging from small high street outlets to warehouse size units and they are looking to recruit Volunteer Shop Assistants. 

About the role

• Serve customers at the till point, operating the cash machine (training provided)
• Sort, price and display donated goods
• Offer helpful, professional and friendly service to customers 
• Help to keep the shop environment clean, tidy and safe
• Prepared to volunteer in other shops if short of staff/volunteers
• Be mindful of health and safety good practice and work accordingly
• Be polite, courteous, professional and friendly to the rest of the team and customers

About you

• An ability to work well as part of a team and alone
• Enthusiasm, and commitment
• A good level of initiative and common sense
• Good communication skills
• An open and non-discriminatory attitude
• A flexible approach

About the organisation

Our client is a charity that has been making a difference to the lives of the people of Worthing and its surrounding areas since it was first established in 1933 by a small team of volunteers. Today they run three care homes and over 30 community services helping over 3,000 people of all ages each year with professional staff and an army of amazing volunteers. They deliver innovative and life-changing care services which help older people, children and adults with a disability, those living with dementia and their carers, to share and enjoy a richer family and community life.
