Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to build links and work with other members of our departments and executive agencies, delivering the D&I action plan. You will work closely with D&I leads across the department and wider government, building and developing positive working relationships.

Engagement and building positive professional working relationships is paramount to this role.

Responsibilities

You will:

• Using your effective communications skills to build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders. Engage with staff networks across the DFT family, to influence and encourage a joint-working environment to achieve positive outcomes.
• Reaching out with other D&I teams to give support and guidance to promote the consistent flow of D&I activities

Working with your D&I counterparts to review data information, to monitor progress and measure successes on the delivery of the D&I strategy.

Able to providing advice based on your knowledge and experiences.

Add value and your perspective to shape the way we see Diversity and Inclusion in the Civil Service.

Creative and capable of driving forward the work that you and your team contribute to.

Be able to share ideas and feel comfortable justifying them.

Resilient so that when faced with a challenge you will draw upon on your engagement skills, to persuade and influence others.

We will look to you to engage with key colleagues, helping to set the direction and drive forward our vision. Diversity and Inclusion is a high priority within the department, as such you will be part of a team that has a high profile and challenging agenda.

We will offer to support you in obtaining a relevant qualification whilst in post.

Additional Information

There will be occasions that you will be required to attend meetings in London, or other DfTc locations. We will pay for your travel, this may also include some overnight stays.
