Full induction process, outstanding training opportunities, development and career progression, opportunities to gain recognised qualifications, free DBS screening.

About the role:

The role of a Support Worker is to ensure the people we work with are safe, happy and lead fulfilling lives.

Supporting someone with a learning disability isn’t just personal care; it’s so much more. A Support Worker could be taking the people supported swimming, assisting with the weekly shop, or even helping to administer the right medication.

With this role our client is planning to support 4 people to live together in Billericay. All four individuals have been friends for a long time but decided in 2019 to start looking for a property together to become housemates. There will be two ladies & two gentlemen, ranging in age from 39 to 57.

All 4 individuals access a range of community services & employment during the week, but are looking to build support outside of those times. As you might imagine each individual has their own outcomes and ambitions, but there is a lot of common ground as well. So if you’re into music, walks at the beach, watching movies or art in any form then this may well be the job for you.

They are also looking to develop skills around the house with a view to becoming more independent. It will be there first time outside their respective parental homes, so there is definitely a lot of excitement as to what the future holds. If you think you’d like to be a part of making that future a reality, then please do apply now.

About You:

You don't need to have worked in supported living before to be a good Support Worker, simply the right attitude, a supportive nature, good communication skills and a great sense of humour is a must.

You'll need to have great communication skills and be comfortable making decisions. A basic level of English and Math is also required.

All posts are subject to an enhanced DBS check which will be paid for.

Whilst experience is not essential as full training will be provided we very much welcome previous experience working as Home Carer, Care Worker, Health Care Assistant, Support Worker, Nurses, Social Care Worker, Care Assistant, Mental Health Care Worker, Voluntary Worker.
