About the Team

Our eCommerce test team are responsible for testing developer’s code that sits within both our UK website and International website which services over 70 countries.

The team have grown significantly over the years and we now have over 50 testers across the business. The team are passionate for quality and help to influence and implement an automated approach to testing.

About the Role

You will:

  • Lead a team of analysts to implement and run automated testing across multiple platforms and ensure they are engaged with testing activities
  • Be responsible for planning, coordinating and managing all software test activities and be a force for implementing processes to improve quality and effectiveness of our software development lifecycle
  • Approve and prepare thorough test plans, specifications and reports
  • Review handover processes to ensure testing can be performed effectively
  • Liaise with developers and management to assist in the development process
  • Provide input into the product development schedules and plans
  • Assess procure and utilise new test equipment and resource
  • Drive continuous improvement of testing scripts to ensure optimal coverage

Coordinate regular meetings with stakeholder teams to ensure relevant information is fully communicated as well as providing feedback to relevant teams to improve software development standards

About You

Essential

 

  • Proven track record in team management within a test environment including experience of mentoring, appraising and developing team members
  • Have the ability to plan and prioritise assigned work and activities for your team including stakeholder management skills to ensure deadlines and deliverables are met
  • Be able to demonstrate knowledge of the systems development life cycle with practical experience of standard test approaches and the testing life cycle
  • Have practical knowledge of regression testing methodologies covering usability, coding, accessibility, security and web standards
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, architectures and functional specifications
  • Have strong problem solving skills with the ability to analyse existing systems to resolve incidents, identify risks and change impact

Strong competency in one or more software development languages and/ or scripting languages

Desirable

  • Experience of Automation using Selenium Web driver or similar
  • Good understanding of assessing test coverage using automated tools
  • Previous experience in migration to a micro service architecture using cloud technologies
  • Experience of working on an agile/ scrum environment
  • Good understanding of an OO language such as C# or Java
  • Experience in Cucumber, Gherkin and Jenkins
