This is a new role at L&Q to continue to develop and grow the team that partners with small housing associations to deliver a target of 600 homes by March 2022 under Strategic Partnership Agreements. The team manages the Development process from site identification to end of the defects period and works across all L&Q Regions. As such this role will be a visible high-profile part of our organisation.

You will need to fit straight in, taking a lead role in managing the acquisition and delivery  teams so that a high quality range of products can be delivered to our partners through our partnership led approach. Your  acquired knowledge and skills to lead the development process from feasibility through to the handover of new homes needs to be demonstrable from the onset as you will be required to accelerate the delivery of our programme through your enthusiastic approach, while keeping control of risks, programmes, cost and quality. You will ensure a focussed approach to establish excellence in quality and customer satisfaction and meeting company objectives – ensuring projects are delivered on time and to the highest standard.

The ability to build and influence relationships at the highest level will be critical, this role will work with a wide range of stakeholders including local authorities and land owners. You will be required to develop great briefs for projects, run financial viability appraisals and making sure that through each stage of the development process, risks are managed and value for money is delivered.

It is essential that you can demonstrate strong leadership skills with the ability to grow and develop the team. You will demonstrate the right attitude, approach and personality to fit with our culture; work as part of a team and lead by example to deliver great outcomes. You will demonstrate a proven track record of achievement through applying strong technical skills and outstanding leadership ability. You will be required to adopt a professional and continual service improvement approach at all times

A high level of written, oral and presentation skills and demonstrable influencing skills will be essential, and we are looking for significant experience of acquiring new sites and delivering impact in previous roles.

The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of housing development, project management and statutory legal and regulatory requirements.

Skills needed:
· Detailed knowledge of Development (planning & design) and delivery process
· Detailed knowledge of financial and risk appraisal of projects
· Commercial acumen
· Proven experience within a housing development or other property based organisation leading/managing large teams
·       Strong contract management skills including experience in dispute resolution
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Experienced in implementing procedures and practices to ensure effective project control and reporting at Board level
· Proven ability to develop constructive relationships with external parties to ensure project success
· Experienced in implementing risk management practices and processes
