We are looking for two marketing interns to join the business for 3 months.  This post is suitable for graduates or undergraduates seeking meaningful commercial experience to enhance their career prospects.  There may also be the possibility of a permanent role at the end of the internship.

About the role

This role will have a specific focus on workingwise.co.uk – our jobs board and community site for over 50s and the employers who value their experience and maturity. In particular, you will be working with our marketing managers and also with our web editor on a focused area of research we are conducting.

This will include:

Assessing the best ways of connecting with our workingwise candidate audience and prospective audience through a range of marketing channels with a particular focus on social media.  

Working with our marketing managers to develop and implement a social media strategy around this audience, initially with the goal of achieving a good volume of quality responses to our research that are truly representative of the age 50 – 75+ job -seeking audience. You will also build on this social media strategy to achieve an effective social media presence with good levels of engagement, including, as appropriate, groups that will need to be managed on a daily basis.

Building and managing partnerships with relevant business organisations in order to extend our reach into this demographic and build collaborative partnerships.

Finding potential regular bloggers/ collaborators for workingwise.co.uk and also for workingdads.co.uk  and building those relationships.

In addition, you will also have the opportunity to:

Assist the marketing managers evolve social media groups for workingmums.co.uk and workingdads.co.uk

Contribute to content creation and development (articles, newsletters, webinars) across our sites

Assist with content and market research across our sites

 

About you

You’ll have a passion for marketing and will have studied (or be studying for) a marketing or marketing related degree or further degree.  A self- starter with lots of energy, you’ll have a good understanding of core marketing competencies and be social media savvy. Experience of using Linkedin, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to communicate to business and consumer audiences will be an advantage. You’ll be proficient with Microsoft packages, including Word and Excel. Great communication skills – both oral and written – are a must. Importantly, you’ll have a passion for diversity.

You’ll be working with both our marketing team and our web editor who will provide guidance and the opportunity for you to put your knowledge into practice. 

The role is remote with regular video conference calls, so you’ll need a good home IT set up with reliable internet.

 Hours:  @  20 hours per week ideally worked across 4 - 5 days per week.
