Job Details

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Analyst to join our European Regulatory Affairs and Aggregate Risk (RAAR) team in our Risk Management Group. The RAAR team in the EMEA region is focused on prudential rule interpretation and risk oversight for local regulated entities (including a UK and European Bank and a number of UK and European Investment and Asset Management Firms), stress testing, recovery, resolution and wind-down planning, and economic capital assessment for the EMEA non-banking entities in the Macquarie group. The role provides the opportunity to gain broad exposure to the activities of Macquarie divisions operating in the region and to build close relationships with these businesses and other key support functions.

You will primarily work with a focus on the prudential rule interpretation and risk oversight part of the team’s responsibilities, but with opportunities to collaborate with and contribute to the wider team’s responsibilities. You will be responsible for horizon scanning for the developments in EMEA prudential standards and assessing the forward-looking prudential implications based on these developments. You will be supporting the operation of a second line of defence framework for prudential regulatory compliance in EMEA, as well as providing prudential advisory and second line review and challenge to various stakeholders across the business. You will assist in the reviewing and commenting on a diverse range of new business, product and fund proposals in the region to identify and address the prudential implications.

You will have a good working knowledge of the current EU and UK prudential regimes, including the Basel framework, CRD/CRR and their future developments and specifically the Pillar 1 and Pillar 2 frameworks for capital adequacy. Your strong communication skills will see you being able to provide challenge and promote a strong risk and compliance culture. You will have the ability to think critically, exercise considered judgement, and manage your time effectively.

If this sounds like the right opportunity for you to take the next step in your career, please apply today.

Working at Macquarie

We believe in providing a positive environment for all our staff that is innovative and inspiring. For our female staff, Macquarie’s senior leaders are actively involved in increasing the representation of females in management positions.  In June 2014, we launched a mentoring programme for females, with the following two objectives:

  • Address female retention rates at Senior Manager level and improve our diverse pipeline of talent;
  • Engage female Senior Managers by providing tools and support around their personal development;

The programme pairs up Senior Managers with Directors, who meet on a monthly basis, and are supported by active group sessions (bi-monthly) with an external facilitator.

We select some of the brightest minds to help us in solving complex challenges for our clients.  We recognise that recruiting talent from varied backgrounds is essential to improving our understanding of the marketplace, and enhancing creativity and problem-solving capabilities in our businesses.

Because of this, our commitment to you is to create a diverse and inclusive workplace regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity or cultural background.

We make this commitment not only because it is the right thing to do but it opens up a world of opportunity, securing the future of our people, our success and our business
