Could you help us make this possible?

As the product Owner for IBM MQ on zSeries Mainframe you'll be the technical authority for this area, this is a hands-on role where you'll configure and maintain products and services according to Group standards and policies (and to agreed service levels) and will assist with the delivery of projects within MQ environments - this includes out of hours. Additionally, you'll provide technical support (including incident and problem resolution for systems and processes in complex environments) - again this includes out of hours support.

You'll also be responsible for the following areas;

  • Owning the customer relationship and effective consumption of the platform product

  • Identify, review, evaluate and mitigate potential risks ensuring adherence to relevant risk policies and frameworks or to ensure compliance with internal/external regulation

  • Own and define the technology roadmap for IBM MQ

  • Help drive the strategy and design across the estate.

  • Work closely with key Stakeholders, drive and deliver against the technology roadmap.

  • Enforce standardisation and assist with improvement initiatives in the team.

  • Work collaboratively across the wider Middleware teams to develop, promote and implement process initiatives.

  • Working with other platform areas with the same technology to ensure a consistent approach

  • Ensure processes and procedures are strictly adhered to

  • Ensure that evergreen currency plans are in place

So what about you? You'll have experience with;

  • IBM Websphere Message Queue v8 / v9 administration - Mainframe

  • IBM Websphere Message Queue Clustering and Coupling facility standards

  • IBM Websphere Message Queue use case modelling and standards definition

  • Operational experience on mainframe z/OS

We'd also like you to have IBM Websphere Message Queue v8 / v9 administration - Linux; Knowledge of automated deployment and pipeline / workflow management, (git, urban code etc) and diagnostic skills and an ability to analyse technical information from various sources, allowing the provision of highly effective solutions in complex environments.

***The base salary range for this role is from £54,000pa to £74,000pa and can be based out of either Halifax, Edinburgh or London. If this is based in London then the base salary will reflect this.***
