We have an excellent opportunity for a NPI Project Manager responsible for improving project management across the dedicated HBT Fire business and join a dynamic team of individuals located in Leicester England. Providing project management on critical projects and execute program management standards. You will be responsible for supporting the R&D and cross-functional leaders in the on time delivery of programs by reviewing and auditing programs to assess the program status and recommending corrective actions as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Provide program management leadership over key projects. Own and manage a Global Fire project portfolio in order to meet targets in terms of Time to Market, Minimum Viable Offering Scope, Project Budget, Quality and maximize the number of launches in a year.
  • Play a key role in the ongoing deployment and evolution of the New Product development process, moving to a more agile/lean development methodology.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of standards for program management.
  • Drive collaboration with the cross functional team to achieve on time delivery of programs by introducing consistent PM tools, key visual management systems and dashboard metrics for management and monitoring of progress in all projects.
  • Review and report on program portfolio status to leadership on a regular basis.
  • Conduct regular core team and cross functional team meetings.
  • Focus on early problem detection and risk mitigation planning.
  • Negotiate skillfully with minimal support in tough situations with both internal and external groups; settle differences with minimum noise; win concessions without damaging relationships; the ability to be direct and forceful as well as diplomatic.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience handling global, multi-site, multi-product projects through a phase gate or New Product Introduction (NPI) process – electrical, mechanical, firmware, industrial, automotive.
  • Experience in handling cross-functional teams
  • Computer proficiency including word processing, spreadsheets, project management tools and enterprise software.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with strong ability to influence internal business partners.
