We are searching for committed HR Business Partners to work in collaboration with a wide range of representatives across the Department to enable them through the effective partnership of our leaders to mentor and develop understanding of the people strategy enabling us to achieve its core aims and objectives.

Job description

This is an amazing time to join the Department of Transport and this opportunity will give the successful candidates exciting opportunities to join the HR Department at a challenging yet rewarding time as we support the business through unprecedented times. We have numerous opportunities within the HR family at the Department for Transport which will enable the successful candidates to grow and play a pivotal role in achieving our departmental values and objectives.

HR Business Partner x2

• Implementation and delivery of people strategies for key client groups
• Building and developing skills and capability within groups
• Strategic resourcing & workforce planning
• Implementation of HR Policies
• Working and consulting on organisational design and development projects
• Working knowledge of TUPE and associated practices

Please note these roles can be based in either Leeds or Birmingham, some travel to London may be expected as part of the role.

Things you need to know Security

Successful candidates must pass a disclosure and barring security check.

Selection process details

This vacancy is using Success Profiles, and will assess your Behaviours, Strengths, Ability and Experience.

We are closely monitoring the situation regarding the coronavirus, and will be following central Government advice as it is issued. There is therefore a risk that recruitment to this post may be subject to change at short notice. In addition, where appropriate, you may be invited to attend a video interview.

As part of the application process you will be asked to complete a CV and personal statement. Please tailor your CV & Personal Statement to demonstrate your experience of -

• Working with Senior leaders to plan, advise, and support implementation of change across areas of a business
• Experience of leading resourcing strategies, with workforce planning
• Experience of identifying skills gaps, and building & developing skills and capability within a business

After submission of the first stage of your application you will be invited to complete a Civil Service Judgement test. If you successfully pass the test, you will be invited to complete the final stage of the application.

Please complete the online tests as soon as possible (within 24-48 hours is recommended), the closing date for the tests is 23:55 on 5th November. If you fail to complete the online test before the deadline your application will be withdrawn. Guidance for the test will be available when you are invited to take the test. The tests are administered online and accessed via the CS Jobs website.

The sift is likely to be conducted w/c 9th November.

Interviews are likely to be conducted virtually, and you will be assessed against the role you have specified in this application. Interviews are likely to take place w/c 23rd November.

We will try to meet the dates set out in the advert. There may be occasions when these dates will change. You will be provided with sufficient notice of the confirmed dates.
