Why:

It is important we ensure efficiency, quality and affordability throughout the mechanical and electrical services of all our buildings, therefore we are expanding our services team and recruiting a Building Services Manager to join our London & South team. Covering 2-3 of our projects in South London, Surrey and Sussex, and working with our preconstruction teams remotely and across our offices in Weybridge, Gatwick & Dartford, the successful Building Services Manager will be responsible for all M&E input throughout the tender and procurement phases and be the MEP expert throughout the build.

What:

Reporting to the Senior Services Manager and working remotely and from various locations across our region, you will be responsible for:

  • Working alongside our Preconstruction team and carry out technical reviews of tender documents and ensure the production of high-quality information and accurate costs.
  • Liaising with the estimating team and adjust designs accordingly,
  • Supply chain co-ordination and oversee all service handovers between the preconstruction and delivery team to ensure a technically and contractually compliant services tender.
  • Manage the complete qualitative, technical and commercial appraisal of services tenders across the team, in conjunction with other team members.
  • Identify equal and approved services solutions for inclusion in tenders.
  • Ensure technical appraisals of the services design to ensure compliance on all projects Design gap analysis (Building Services).
  • Attend meetings such as tender launch meeting, mid tender reviews/interview and tender adjudications.
  • Oversee all service handovers between the preconstruction and delivery team to ensure a technically and contractually compliant services tender.
  • Constantly reinforce and deliver our customer first ethic.

You:

Essential Criteria:  

  • Good standard of mathematical ability. 
  • Appropriate CSCS card. 
  • Valid driving licence. 
  • Appropriate managerial experience in the services sector. 
  • Understanding of all relevant M&E and services legislation. 
  • Commercial acumen. 
  • Proficient use of and Microsoft suite of Office programmes; inc. Excel, Word, Outlook. 
  • A variety of M&E projects in a wide range of sectors. 

Desirable Criteria 

  • Minimum relevant level 4 qualification (HNC / NVQ4 etc). 
  • Design/ Estimating experience. 
  • Working towards MCIOB / CIBSE.
