Job description

The DVLA deliver wide reaching digital services to the UK public and industry. We maintain the national record of vehicles and drivers which means we reach over 40 million people a year. If you have applied for a driving licence, changed vehicle, relicensed your vehicle or completed a vehicle enquiry you would have used one of our services.

The Junior Developer role is able to provide interim/tactical business intelligence solutions for OCSD, until the strategic solution is available, through the development and support of automated data-capture interfaces, applications and databases, and production of bespoke reports and dashboards.
The role holder will work as part of a flexible delivery team working in a variety of styles, including Agile.
 

Responsibilities

As part of your role, you will be expected to:

• Leading the development/modification of new and existing business intelligence interfaces, applications, and databases using both recognised and/or specialist programming languages and technologies.
• Engaging with stakeholders of all levels on specification of agreed projects, maintaining contact throughout duration of assignment, and seeking feedback for ways of improving the delivery of services and user requirements.
• Designing test scripts and conduct Unit Testing and Exploratory Testing of developed applications against agreed standards.
• Providing ongoing technical support for developed applications.

Selection process details
