Job description

We are looking for a Communication and Engagement Manager to be responsible for the delivery of Operational Customer Services Directorates (OCSD) Communication and Engagement activities delivering a best in class service to stakeholders across OCSD. This is the largest directorate within DVLA with over 4,000 staff. You will support the delivery of OCSD campaigns and drive consistency throughout the directorate. You will represent OCSD in other Agency directorates and act as a key point of contact for Agency-wide communication teams.

Leading the OCSD Communication and Engagement team you’ll drive delivery of an ambitious communication and engagement programme across OCSD using a broad range of channels and tools. To do this you’ll be comfortable providing professional communications advice to colleagues at all levels with a keen eye for detail, work collaboratively as part of multiple project teams and build effective relationships across the Agency.
 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Developing and maintaining a directorate communication plan, with a two way feed to and from the Agency plan, identifying key messages, channel fit and audience for all directorate communications through effective networks.

• Supporting Director and Senior Leadership Team in delivering effective communications (content, timing and approach).

• Gathering and ensuring feedback from communications is understood, evaluated and used to identify and drive improvements both at local and corporate level.

• Working with DVLA's Communication team to maximise the effectiveness of appropriate communications channels across the directorate e.g. plasma screens, notice boards, intranet whilst adhering to Agency standard.

Selection process details

This vacancy is using Success Profiles, and will assess your Behaviours, Strengths, Experience and Technical skills.
