Job description

This project will deliver the systems and capability our organisations need to plan, monitor and decide on how we use the £200 billion future investment in programmes that improve journeys and support the economy. You’ll operate with significant autonomy to negotiate between partners to secure resources, decisions and resolve differences while managing and co-ordinating resource across organisations and functions to achieve the project outcomes. We want you to drive the project team to achieve it’s milestones and remain aligned to the wider programme, and engage with stakeholders to keep them aware of project progress. You’ll also lead the project office to support the R2R project with a robust governance framework.
 

Responsibilities

This role will include both Delivery and Project Management elements, where within your role you will:

- Lead the completion and full approval of functional and solution designs for Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting (PBF), Business Intelligence (BI) and non-standard Finance Operational Reporting (OR);
- Lead the project team to build the new systems, managing resources, inbound and dependencies to ensure the build schedule integrates into the wider FOSS programme milestones;
- Define the test plans for the solutions, working with stakeholders including the Testing teams to define the scenarios and resources required, defect resolution approach and acceptance criteria;
- Define the project, its outcomes and set up governance to manage the project and ensure it delivers FOSS programme objectives and benefits;
- Ensure the interests of FOSS boards and stakeholders across organisations and functions are understood and that they are consulted on decisions and kept informed of progress;
- Work with Finance Product Owners (FPO’s) and Build Partner to understand Business Unit (BU) R2R requirements and ensure these needs are met in the Functional and Solution Design documents.

About you

You will have experience of successfully delivering Digital, Data and Technical projects, and managing them through robust governance controls. You’ll be able to deliver complex solutions at pace in a dynamic organisational context with shifting priorities, through a multifunctional team.

You will have excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing, with the ability to adapt your delivery to suit a wide variety of audiences, maximising both impact and understanding. You are someone who gains rapport quickly with others as you build effective working relationships with both colleagues and stakeholders. You will have confidence in your ability to come in and make a real impact within our team where you will lead from the front and drive those around you to achieve the same shared objectives.
