Assistant Bid Writer

Willmott Dixon are currently looking to recruit an Assistant Bid Writer to join our London & East construction business. Based in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, we deliver projects across multiple sectors within north London, the northern home counties and East Anglia.

Although not essential, the ideal candidate will be from a construction background and will have experience in proposals / PQQs / tenders and case studies. You should also have a working knowledge of InDesign and the procurement process. Bid writing experience would also be favourable. The successful candidate will be a self-starter and have a good team working ethic with an excellent eye for detail.

The Project
Within the role you will be required to: -

* Coordinate the bid process and provide quality support to the Bid Team Leader.

* Enhance the quality of bids. * Effectively coordinate bid team contributors input.

* Provide creative ideas and initiatives into bids.

* Assess bid requirements and assist the bid leader to shape the proposals.

* Completion of high quality and accurate PQQs.

* Coordinate and produce accurate, well presented bid documentation for tenders.

* Prepare clear effective customer presentations.

* Review pre-bid information and intelligence and gather more if necessary.

* Further develop win strategy with bid lead and business development manager.

* Understand and include customer-focused sales messages and share with bid authors.

* Prepare feasibility documents with business development team.

* Read PQQ documents and understand PQQ requirements.

* Draft PQQ writing plan with business development manager and preconstruction manager support.

* Brief support authors when applicable.

* Issue PQQ responsibilities and deadlines.

* Write bespoke PQQ responses.

* Review and critique specialist authors' responses.

* Rewrite authors' drafts.

* Organise red review of PQQ.

* Proof read colleagues' tender and marketing material.

* Design bespoke bid documents in line with corporate guidance.

* Organise printing, uploading and delivery of tender documents.

* Research and write case study information to support bids and marketing team.

* Research latest bid ideas and share internally.

* Writing bespoke answers to customer questions.

* Redrafting colleagues' written answers.

* Use Desktop Publishing software to create bespoke bids.

* Carry out research into customers and projects.

* Research current projects and create case studies.

* Experience of using Microsoft Office

* Relevant degree or equivalent qualification / work experience Desirable Criteria

* Full membership of relevant professional body

* Experience of writing bid submissions
