Who are Lloyds Banking Group?

Lloyds Banking Group realises that data and analytics are significant business differentiators for financial services companies. Across the banking industry Data Management and Analytics is receiving increased attention and focus. LBG is looking to drive a more sophisticated approach to how it manages data to support transformation and digitisation of the business, and the ability to optimise interaction with customers.

What will I be responsible for in my role?
The Data Enablement Manager is responsible for supporting the delivery of key projects and initiatives across different parts of the group to drive the Enterprise Data Strategy and help realise our Group aspirations. This will include data change related activities, carrying out key responsibilities central to data strategy development and introducing, learning and applying innovative uses of data and technology to drive effective and new ways of doing things across the Group's data management practices.

You're specific role will focus on supporting business areas to develop their Data Management best practice with a particular focus upon Data Quality, Metadata Management & Data Governance activities. You have a real opportunity to help our business customer to overcome their data issues.

The Data Enablement Manager will support Senior Managers (and deputise for them) with the development of the overall strategy and operating model for data management & analytics and the delivery of the standards and frameworks to ensure the appropriate capabilities (tools, training, and processes) are in place to deliver the right outcomes. They will deliver appropriate oversight where required to certify that data management activity is effective across the organisation and ensure that data risk is minimised so that data value outcomes can be achieved.

We sit in the data centre of excellence and you will build relationships with a variety of areas of the business in order to interlock data services effectively.

You'll also get the opportunity to help coach and mentor a couple of more junior staff to help their personal development and task management.

What do we need to see in those who apply?

We like people who come from diverse backgrounds and industries as it brings new ideas and approached to the team, however, as a minimum to apply and be seriously considered we need to see evidence of the following:

  • Good knowledge of Data Quality, Data Management, Data Governance & Metadata

  • Prior experience of data reporting and basic reporting skills.

In terms of personality we would like to see great communication and interpersonal skills.

In terms of desirable skills, any exposure to the following would be great, but please apply if you don't! Tableau, Power BI, Python or exposure to SQL or HTML.

Everything is in the cloud these days, if you have any exposure to cloud that would be advantageous.

What support will I get and how will my career grow?

This is a fantastic area of the bank to work in, full of down to earth people who are passionate about data that you can learn a lot from. Data is a growing discipline and key to driving a range of initiatives across the bank so represents a great area to work.
