“We are an interdisciplinary team of Designers and Developers pushing to change the way customers interact with Sky’s products and services, as well as conducting research and development on emerging interaction paradigms, evolving the Sky products and creative vision, and keeping Sky at the cutting-edge of graphics technology. As a Lead Interaction Designer you will work closely with the wider group Product team and the Director of Group Interaction Design, your goal is to help the Team in researching, ideating and designing innovative solutions that enhance the digital experiences we create at Sky.” – Matteo Morando, Interaction Design Director

What you’ll do:

  • Ensure Animation and Motion Design become a key characteristic of Sky’s Product User Interface.
  • Collaborate with Design, Product and Engineering to define the Sky Product Motion Principles and guidelines. Be the ultimate owner of these principles.
  • Lead and mentor designers on multiple projects, including (but not limited to) Design Systems contributions, motion studies, demo videos and presentations that cultivate a fabulous user experience.
  • Actively collaborate to improve the end-to-end product delivery process, including Motion/Interaction handoffs to delivery teams.
  • Be an active leader in the cross-organisation Design community, sharing our work, learnings and promoting the value and adoption of Motion Design to enhance user interactions.
  • Participate in defining and maintaining team standards and best practices.
  • Stay abreast of the evolving media, technology and design landscape including the emergence of new standards, protocols and devices to create outstanding product experiences.
  • Keep busy and have fun!

What you’ll bring:

  • Excellent communication, project management and organizational skills.
  • Passion about growing talents and developing design culture. Experienced leading designers and coordinating multiple partners.
  • Extensive hands-on Motion/Interaction design experience, you can process briefs, ideate and sketch ideas quickly.
  • Understanding of visual and user-centred design, how design can meet brand and support usability through Motion.
  • Proficient with the Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects magician) and the latest product design tools and software such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Protopie.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS and Javascript is a big bonus.
  • Experience designing for TV is a bonus, but not essential.
  • Experience with 3D tools (like Cinema 4D or Blender) or games engines (like Unity or Unreal) is a bonus, but not essential.
  • Passion for emerging technologies and their application to complex problems.
  • Arts/Graphic Design background preferred.

Where you’ll work: Osterley:

Our Osterley campus is a 10-minute walk from Syon Lane train station. Or you can hop on one of our free shuttle buses that run to and from Osterley, Chiswick Park, Gunnersbury, Acton Town and Ealing Broadway tube stations. There’s also plenty of parking, bike shelters and showers.
