Purpose of the post

The Small Business Charter has received funding from the Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy to deliver the Small Business Leadership Progamme via its award holding schools to small business leaders across England. This is a hugely important programme to help small business leaders navigate their way through the unprecedented economic turmoil created by Covid-19.

The SBC has been working with 20 business schools to deliver the ten-week programme to over 2,000 small businesses and this has been extended for a further three months. 

This is a really exciting project and one that would suit someone who is organised, financially experienced and who can remain calm under pressure. 

The Small Business Charter, part of the Chartered Association of Business Schools, is a national kitemark awarded to business schools that successfully support small businesses, student entrepreneurship, and drive local economic growth right across the UK. The role includes engaging with senior level business school academics, business owners, Government and other organisations at the heart of driving success for small businesses.

The essence of the role: 

The Project Finance Administrator will support the Programme Director and the Finance Manager in the smooth running of the financial aspects of the programme and be responsible for 

  • Posting social media payments made via credit card or through bank accounts to the purchase ledger 
  • Running nominal ledger activity reports as required 
  • Issuing and monitoring purchase orders  
  • Reconciling expenditure against previous month’s and forthcoming month’s claims 
  • Checking invoices received from delivery partners for accuracy and that all proof is received to support claims 
  • Acting as a the lead point of contact for financial matters with delivery partners 
  • Collating monthly claims to be sent to the auditors 
  • Monitoring costs against budget 
  • Any other reasonable tasks associated with the financial management of the programme 

The role is offered on a full time fixed contract until May 2021 and is for working from home.
