What is the purpose of this role?

Our Early Careers agenda is key to our success as our programmes and initiatives bring new insights, innovation and help us grow the talent necessary to meet our future skills needs. We are looking for a confident and experienced individual who will be dedicated to leading and promoting our agenda and aligning all existing and future programmes to enable the attraction, development and progression of Early Career talent.

Managing the development and delivery of all our Early Careers initiatives, ensuring these meet the needs of the business and our people strategy, including the ongoing review of Early Careers attraction and training requirements, support quarterly/annual demand and resource planning. You will provide talent expertise and external best practice to build our reputation as an Early Careers Employer of Choice.

This role will cover a period of maternity leave for up to 12 months.



What will this role involve?

  • Responsible for leading and promoting our Early Careers agenda and aligning all existing and future programmes to enable the attraction, development and progression of Early Career talent
  • Manage relationships between the business, Early Careers and supporting teams ensuring that objectives are met.
  • Manage the delivery of the Early Careers framework; ensuring the programmes meet business resource needs and fulfil both short-term and longer-term business requirements.
  • Managing end-to-end support for Apprenticeship, Graduate, Placement Student and Young People programmes, from resource planning, onboarding, to programme completion. providing central oversight, governance and best practice.
  • Consult with the business ensuring business resource needs are met with suitable programmes and future resource planning needs.
  • Proactively engage, educate and support each business area and HR team in identifying and managing their early career programmes.
  • Lead a small team of Early Careers colleagues, being a point of escalation and providing expertise and best practice.
  • Review and understand the wider marketplace and external impacts/changes being introduced ensuring the company remain at the forefront of the market
  • Partner with the business and manage the selection process; implement standardised processes for all relevant recruitment.

  • You can demonstrate experience in delivering high quality graduate and/or apprenticeship schemes
  • You are approachable and work with individuals and teams, creating an environment that delivers effective results through people.
  • You will have the gravitas and capability to build relationships at senior level
  • You have excellent communication skills
  • You have experience of leading a high performing team
  • You think on your feet - you like to learn and can do so quickly.
  • You are adaptable, motivated and driven
  • You have experience of operating in a coaching capacity
