Work within the sales and trading team, as part of the Scheduling and Optimisation group, taking responsibility for the management, monitoring and optimisation of Macquarie's gas and power portfolio in northern Europe. 

You will be dealing with a number of significant industrial and commercial customers, scheduling gas and power for the trading and client businesses. In addition to this daily activity, individuals will be required to participate and manage short-term projects.

As a Senior Analyst/Associate, you will be responsible for:

  • Management of Power Purchase Agreement for a biomass power plant, including prompt power trading, plant scheduling and administration of the contract.
  • Scheduling and dispatching of gas and electricity trading positions across northern Europe
  • Day to day interface with transport system operators
  • European storage scheduling and short- term optimisation
  • Customer interface and position management on behalf of Macquarie's retail gas and power supplier, Corona Energy
  • The management and implementation of new projects to expand the existing European energy business
  • Potential on call out of hours working during evenings and weekends

If you can bring experience within of Gas scheduling or Power Station Optimisation and scheduling that will be useful - but we will consider all candidates and with strong analytic skills, a STEM degree and technical skills (ideally including MS Excel / VBA).

You will need an ability to understand credit, legal and compliance issues, effective communication skills and high levels of enthusiasm and motivation.

Any language skills (especially German or Italian) are desirable.
