What is the purpose of this role? We are looking to recruit a Social Value Coordinator to support the Project Management Team in the delivery of our social value commitments to Bradford as part of the Smart Street Lighting project. Creating a positive social impact in the communities we serve is one of Amey's key values. Our social value policy is already delivering successes across the Bradford district, but the recent award of the Smart Street Lighting project is reliant upon delivery of extensive investment in local people and communities. Our obligations are broadly split into two sections: 1) commitments to employment for local people, and 2) commitments of time and resources towards various local social, environmental and economic targets. What will this role involve? * Passionate about delivering social value in the communities where we operate * Arrange and coordinate meetings with schools, training partners, recruitment agencies, charities and other organisations, record and follow-up resulting actions * Manage the relationship with the independent Social Value Portal; appointed by Bradford Council to monitor our performance * Negotiate with and positively influence customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders * Arrange, manage and participate in community activities, charity events and local involvement days * Prepare supporting information packs and assist with delivery of presentations to schools and/or community groups * Assist with supporting young people into work * Maintain records and produce reports on progress and achievements * Undertake other administrative tasks * Provide support to the wider portfolio of Street Lighting projects within Amey. What are we looking for? * GCSE or equivalent grade C or above in Maths and English * Able to work flexible hours to meet project requirements * A high level of expertise in the use of software applications such as MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook * Understanding of basic business and commercial terminology * Full driving licence * Willingness to work with people from all sectors of the community including underprivileged, homeless, unemployed or ex-offenders, with appropriate safeguards in place * Enhanced DBS clearance * Experienced in coordinating and successfully supporting projects with a range of stakeholders * Experience of working successfully in a diverse team * Proactive, with a constructive approach and excellent planning, coordination and organisational skills * Ideally with experience of working in the transport, construction or street lighting sectors.
