About the role

 


This role is part of Onboarding and Customer Communications and will give you the opportunity to work in a fun dynamic team who are at the forefront of leading the way for customers & colleagues in transforming & digitising the Lloyds Banking Group Retail Bank across mobile, branch, telephony and internet banking. The Solution Architect role will be aligned to the Personalisation Lab. Working in a strong collaborative way to drive efforts to create, build, support and improve our end-to-end architecture across our channel development portfolio, also working closely with the product and engineering teams with lots of exciting new challenges. You will be a core contributor to ensure good quality and engineering practices are followed in accordance will engineering transformation strategy and report to the Lab Engineering Lead.


As a Solutions Architect, you will have significant experience working as an architect on large scale and complex organisational change. You will be at point to provide architectural oversight into the data and system integration work across the various feature teams. The work involves integration of 3rd party services into the various channels that the bank uses to communicate and interact with its customers. You will have the opportunity to help shape the next generation of the bank's capabilities. You will also be required to work with the development teams and help design and shape the capabilities by being involved in POC's and modelling future design. You will be comfortable with back end development and data / system integrations.


Specific knowledge of Enterprise Application Integration, Enterprise Data Integration, Enterprise Integration Platforms and Business Process Modelling will be beneficial.


A "can-do" attitude, capability of bootstrapping projects, and ability to effectively work with multi-disciplinary, internal and external distributed teams across the project lifecycle. Effective communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels, specifically with a range of stakeholders.

Essential skills

  • Strong Knowledge of JavaScript - 8+ years' experience
  • Java Spring - 8+ years' experience
  • Java Hibernate - 4 years' experience
  • Big Data and Hadoop ecosystem - 4+ years' experience
  • Rest / SOAP - 8 years' experience
  • Containers - 2+ years' experience
  • GIT, test automation and CI - 8+ years' experience
  • Application servers - WAS & Liberty - 8+ years' experience
  • SQL/NoSQL database - 8+ years' experience


Desirable skills

 

  • Experience in the Banking & Finance industry
  • Preferable experience with Python and Big Data technologies including ML
  • Preferable experience with public cloud infrastructure
  • Exposure to at least one of Liberty, Tomcat or Jetty Containers
  • Exposure to open-source technologies and frameworks
  • Experience in wholescale transformation design.
  • Experience in Digital / API
  • Come from an engineering background.

***The base salary banding for this role is £81,000 - £110,000 in London, plus the above listed benefits.***
