Head of Software Development

We are looking for a Head of Software Development to help the charity achieve its objectives via effective and relevant software solutions. As Head of Software Development, you will be accountable for the successful delivery of software solutions across the organisation.

Position: Head of Software Development

Location: Office-based, Fleet

Salary: £60,000 p.a.

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9.00 – 17.00

Contract: Permanent

Benefits: Enhanced pension scheme with 10% employer contribution, equivalent of 5 normal working weeks' annual leave a year, plus normal bank holidays, Dental Insurance, Income Protection and Group Life cover on appointment.

About the Role

The Head of Software Development will manage a team of Business Analysts and IT Delivery Manager, you will also collaborate with user teams across the organisation to deliver effective solutions and IT services that meet user needs. As Head of Software Development, you will work closely with the IT Director to create and deliver the strategic, software and IT architecture vision as well as all aspects of the development of software solutions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Actively maintain and promote the organisations Christian ethos and values
  • Ensuring that technology standards and best practices are maintained across the organisation
  • Manage and inspire the team

About You

To flourish as Head of Software Development, you’ll need:

  • Experience of the Agile software development cycle
  • Experience in system configuration
  • Experience in multi-framework one development methodologies
  • Knowledge of web services and standards
  • Experience in systems analysis and process modelling
  • Experience in managing advanced senior software development teams
  • Experience in CRM object developments and configuration management
  • Able to analyse complex business requirements and devise robust simplified technical solutions
  • Ability to set and manage priorities judiciously
  • Ability to articulate and gain engagement for ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Educated to at least degree level or equivalent and/or be able to show relevant work-based experience
  • Core skills.

The Tech Stack knowledge and experience needed includes:

  • Process modelling techniques
  • NET source code simulation
  • Object Oriented Designing techniques.
  • Trouble shooting and debugging techniques.
  • Working with different types of web services.

You must be personally committed to the Christian faith and be able to respect, uphold and work within our client’s Christian mission, values, culture and faith statements.

You will represent and speak on behalf of a Christian charity and as such the Occupational Requirement for an active Christian faith is justified under the Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9, Part 1, clause 3.
