Job Details

As part of the LBG returners programme, this is an exciting opportunity to join the Analysis and Insight team in Retail Finance.
We're building a world class analysis and planning department and are seeking recruits with drive, curiosity, and a desire to make a real difference to the businesses we support.
We see the Returners Programme as a fantastic source of high quality / high potential recruits - and are looking to offer several placements.
As is most of the world, the entire team is currently working remotely and this is something we intend to carry on embracing into the future. We're passionate about deploying innovative ways of working and we expect this role to work in a hybrid way, flexing between working from home and one of our office hubs (Bristol, Cardiff, London, Leeds, Halifax, Chester, Edinburgh).
We recognise that to attract the best people we need to be flexible - we know that 'normal' office hours aren't always doable! Whilst we can't accommodate every flexible working request, we're happy to be asked.
Why the Lloyds Banking Group Returners Programme?
If you've taken a career break for at least two years then you're eligible to apply to our award-winning Returners Programme at Lloyds Banking Group.
We're in the middle of a huge transformation to realise our ambition of building the bank of the future, whilst also fulfilling on our commitments to Helping Britain Recover.
If successful we'd put you through a 16 week programme, designed to re-integrate you back into your career and restore the skills and value you possess. After the programme we'd then look to the possibility of you securing a permanent role with us. The programme start date is likely to be end-September 2021.

What's involved?

The team comprises around 100 colleagues providing the analytical and planning capability supporting all areas of the Retail business. This covers the income generating products, and the full cost base.

You'll create analysis and insight that builds our understanding of the business to enable better decision making.

Central to the role is identifying a business problem; sourcing relevant data, modelling into meaningful information; then drawing insights to provide recommendation and options.

Planning also forms a key part of the role - this is multifaceted, ranging from annual financial planning to rolling monthly forecasts; benefits planning linked to investment spend; and sales planning. Your role may include building and utilising planning models to create a framework that supports the delivery of financial targets.

We'd love to see a number of the below aspects in your background:

You'll have a finance qualification with a high degree of numeracy, analytical skills, and an understanding of financials.

And whilst having some relevant knowledge might be an advantage; it's not essential. Our development culture will support you to build newly required knowledge as quickly as possible.

So what do we want to see in your style?

We're looking for people to join the team who love to solve problems. People who are creative and naturally curious will thrive in Analysis and Insight.

Being able to take ownership and working collaboratively are capabilities that we value highly, as are commerciality and effective communication skills.

What we'll give you in return

We want you to feel that you belong in the team; and we'll help in every way we can to achieve this.

It's our ambition to develop everyone that joins the team. Our aim is to provide everyone with the opportunity to grow and move forward; and help find the best role in the future to continue that development journey.

We'll also give you a fixed term contract with a regular salary and access to wider benefits.

We'll ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform essential job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment. Please contact us for further details.

These include increasing our use of remote-working tools and technology, as well as placing less reliance on a 9-to-5 mindset. For many of our office-based colleagues, we work in hybrid ways which involves spending at least two days per week or 40% of their time at one of our office sites.
