Who are Lloyds Banking Group and where does this role sit?

Lloyds Banking Group is on the mission to build the bank of the future, and we need help to do it.

This vacancy is in the Commercial Banking division, within the Origination value stream. Our purpose is to create and deliver products that enable clients to grow their businesses. Those businesses provide services that millions of customers across the UK rely upon, day-to-day and especially in their time of need.

We're seeking to recruit two Senior DevOps Platform Engineer's to support our journey onto the Azure Public Cloud Platform. This is a key time in our journey, and we're seeking people who will enjoy the opportunity to shape the direction and success of our new team.

What will you spend your time doing?

You'll work in a hybrid role which combines software and systems engineering, to build and run large-scale, distributed, fault-tolerant systems. The diversity, intellectual curiosity, continual learning, problem solving and openness to learning are key to its success.

Our Engineers are passionate about ensuring the services, both internal and external have; extreme reliability, uptime appropriate to users' needs, resiliency, architectural simplicity, as well as continually seeking to find improvements.

You'll have the opportunity to deal with complex challenges, while using your expertise in coding, algorithms, complexity/forensic analysis and various system design strategies to tackle those challenges.

Much of your software development focus will be on optimising existing systems on Azure, building new Azure PaaS and IaaS solutions for services currently not running on Azure and eliminating manual work through automation wherever feasible. A further stage will be to apply those skills to GCP.

You'll work with people from a wide variety of backgrounds, experiences and perspectives. We encourage collaboration and mentoring people in DevOps methodologies that are supported by solid engineering practices. Self-direction is important and we strive to create an environment that supports this through trust, learning and mentorship.
