Multi-location (in any of our FSA Offices - Belfast, Cardiff, Birmingham, London or York), or home based in the UK. Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not overseas. Occasional UK travel will be required with the possibility of overnight stays. About the job Summary

The FSA is a non-ministerial department of over 1300 people, with a big vision – to drive change in the food system so that it delivers “food we can trust”. Our primary goal is to continue to protect public health and UK consumers’ wider interest in food. As we have now exited the EU the FSA faces a significant period of change and activity.

An exciting opportunity has arisen as part of the Hygiene Policy team in the FSA Wales Directorate.

The Hygiene Policy team are responsible for the development and implementation of food and feed hygiene policy and regulation in Wales. The team manage and develop food policy related to general food hygiene, veterinary policy and hygiene policy related to meat, feed, dairy and shellfish. The roles offer an excellent opportunity to gain experience of policy making in Wales.

The post holder will be assisting colleagues working in their team, contributing to establishment and maintenance of working relationships, managing processes and communications, and providing organisational support. The post holder will work both autonomously within the team and collaboratively across FSA

Job description

Duties include:

• Collate and monitor enquiries on a range of subjects, referring them to the relevant colleagues across FSA in Wales, but also responding directly where appropriate.

• Maintain and update relevant enquiry databases to ensure responses are available to all team members and actioned in a timely manner.

• Produce and issue consultation documents in relation to food and feed legislation, collating responses and producing consultation summaries.

• Undertake administrative functions for the team including diary maintenance, information sharing and management, and internal communications.

• Ymgymryd â swyddogaethau gweinyddol ar gyfer y tîm gan cynnal dyddiaduron, rhannu a rheoli gwybodaeth, a chyfathrebu mewnol.

Selection process details

This vacancy is using Success Profiles, and will assess your Behaviours and Experience.

If successful at shortlisting stage, you will be invited to the final selection stage consisting of a behaviours-based interview.
